O Executivo angolano liberou cerca de 232 milhões de dólares para melhorar as vias de acesso da região transfronteiriça do Okavango para apoiar o fomento do turismo, anunciou a ministra de Estado para Área Social, Dalva Ringote.

O anúncio foi feito, ontem, na cidade de Menongue, Cuando Cubango, na abertura do primeiro Fórum de Investidores para a Região Angolana do Okavango, um dos maiores destinos de lazer de Menongue.

A verba disponibilizada destina 100 milhões de kwanzas para os serviços de terraplanagem de 430 quilómetros de vias de acesso que interligam as principais áreas de interesse turístico na região transfronteiriça do Okavango e os restantes 132 milhões de dólares para a construção de postos fronteiriços nas localidades do Dirico, Mucusso, Bwabwata e do Bico de Angola.

Na ocasião, Dalva Ringote assegurou que se pretende com estes projectos estruturantes viabilizar o desenvolvimento do turismo na região angolana do Okavango, sobretudo na província do Cuando Cubango, pelo seu carácter transversal no sentido de proporcionar oportunidades de negócio nos mais variados sectores, sendo que o alcance deste desiderato passa, necessariamente, pela atracção de investidores nacionais e estrangeiros, uma vez que o sector privado é o principal dinamizador da actividade turística no país e no mundo.

Com estes projectos, prosseguiu, ganham igualmente particular relevo, no quadro do Plano Nacional de Fomento ao Turismo (PLANATUR) diferentes acções de natureza legal e institucional.

Ressaltou a recente iniciativa do Executivo angolano de isenção de vistos de turismo a 98 países, que permitiu uma maior dinamização da actividade turística no país, a sua abertura ao mundo, o intercâmbio de culturas e a integração entre os povos, não só a nível da região Austral, como também dos demais Estados e continentes, levando Angola a constar dentre os 10 principais destinos turísticos do presente ano.

Dalva Ringote disse que o primeiro fórum de investidores na região do Okavango reafirma o compromisso do Executivo angolano com a integração económica regional, através da gestão sustentável dos recursos naturais transfronteiriços e do desenvolvimento do turismo transnacional, a nível da África Austral.

Realçou o desenvolvimento da economia verde, do ecoturismo e da sua sustentabilidade ambiental, nas suas diferentes dimensões, nomeadamente económica, social, cultural e ecológica.

Dalva Ringote reiterou que, por este facto, o sector do Turismo representa uma das principais prioridades do Executivo angolano, no âmbito do Plano Nacional de Desenvolvimento 2023-2024, tendo em vista a sua dinamização no quadro do processo de diversificação da economia, sendo expectável a sua maior contribuição a nível do Produto Interno Bruto.

“Pelo que são chamados todos os agentes económicos privados, quer nacionais ou estrangeiros, a desempenhar o seu papel no desenvolvimento deste importante sector da actividade económica, ao abrigo da livre iniciativa privada, constitucionalmente protegida”, disse.

Para o efeito, acrescentou que no quadro da sua ampla estratégia de desenvolvimento das zonas turísticas, o Presidente da República, aprovou o PLANATUR para o período de 2023-2027, que prevê especialmente em relação à zona do Okavango/Zambeze, um conjunto de acções, com realce para a reabilitação das vias de acesso, das estradas nacionais que interligam o país e as Repúblicas da Namíbia e Zâmbia.

Dalva Ringote considerou o projecto Okavango/Zambeze (KAZA) como uma iniciativa de desenvolvimento turístico transnacional e de preservação dos ecossistemas, compreendendo as Repúblicas de Angola, Botswana, Namíbia, Zâmbia e Zimbabwe, que partilham entre si uma vasta riqueza a nível da biodiversidade, com particular destaque para os recursos hídricos e a fauna.

Segundo a ministra de Estado para Área Social, o sector do Turismo tem desempenhado um papel relevante na dinamização da economia global, posicionando-se entre os quatro sectores da actividade económica que mais crescem, sendo responsável pela empregabilidade de 10 por cento da força de trabalho, proporcionando principalmente oportunidades de emprego para os jovens.

O evento promovido pela Agência Nacional para a Gestão da Região Angolana do Okavango (ANAGERO) atraiu para a capital da província do Cuando Cubango mais de 200 participantes, entre autoridades do Estado e  empresários e investidores nacionais e estrangeiros.

Por sua vez, o governador do Cuando Cubango, José Martins declarou que o objectivo deste primeiro fórum de investidores na região angolana do Okavango visa essencialmente atrair os investidores nos sectores do turismo e serviços transversais, para o pleno aproveitamento das oportunidades de negócio, como sendo uma porta de entrada para transformar as terras do progresso, onde o turismo é por excelência uma vocação potencial.

 O governante destacou que as potencialidades da província contam com abundantes recursos naturais, culturais, históricos e humanos, tendo realçado as Quedas do Rio Lomba, o memorial à Vitória da Batalha do Cuito Cuanavale, os parques nacionais do Luengue-Luiana e de Mavinga, bem como das reservas naturais e zonas de conservação que têm uma fauna ainda preservada.

Dados apresentados pelo governador do Cuando Cubango no fórum revelam que Cuando Cubango concentra  697.398 habitantes, afigura-se na vanguarda da riqueza do país pelas suas potencialidades de recursos hídricos, florestais, minerais e terras aráveis, para a prática da agricultura, bem como os espaços panorâmicos para o ecoturismo.

José Martins reconheceu que apesar das dificuldades e insuficiências que a província atravessa, sobretudo as ligadas à vias de acesso, infra-estruturas rodoviárias, aeroportuárias e embarcações fluviais que visam a facilitação da mobilidade de pessoas e bens na região.
