O ministro do Interior, Manuel Homem, tido como o preferido de Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o para lhe suceder no Pal\u00e1cio da Cidade Alta, ficou definitivamente para tr\u00e1s nesta corrida devido aos tumultos que se verificaram na capital angolana no final de julho.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>O caos social correu mundo e fragilizou o ministro que tutela as pol\u00edcias, as quais foram incapazes de conter a revolta popular que teve na sua g\u00e9nese o aumento do pre\u00e7o dos combust\u00edveis. A imagem de desordem de Angola que passou para o exterior colocou em causa a lideran\u00e7a do pa\u00eds, protagonizada por Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o, e deixou Manuel Homem numa situa\u00e7\u00e3o periclitante.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c0 data, o ministro do Interior afirmou que o Governo est\u00e1 atento \u201c\u00e0s vozes leg\u00edtimas que pedem melhorias\u201d, mas que tamb\u00e9m estaria preparado \u201cpara agir com firmeza contra quem, por motiva\u00e7\u00f5es pol\u00edticas ou oportunistas, tenta mergulhar, sem sucesso, o pa\u00eds no caos\u201d. Todavia, a viol\u00eancia marcou esses dias de protestos, os quais culminaram com 30 mortos, mais de 200 feridos e 1.500 deten\u00e7\u00f5es. Passadas quase duas semanas, Luanda continua em estado de alerta, circunst\u00e2ncia que contribui para adensar as d\u00favidas sobre a estabilidade de Angola, sobretudo por parte de investidores estrangeiros.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A inseguran\u00e7a que se vive em Angola penaliza Manuel Homem, mas tamb\u00e9m afeta o Presidente da Rep\u00fablica. Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o perde espa\u00e7o de manobra para impor as suas escolhas e fica mais vulner\u00e1vel no seio do seu partido, o Movimento Popular a Liberta\u00e7\u00e3o de Angola (MPLA). Em contrapartida, as narrativas dos opositores, em particular do general Higino Carneiro que j\u00e1 assumiu publicamente a sua candidatura \u00e0 lideran\u00e7a do MPLA, ganham peso e aliados. Fernando Piedade dos Santos (Nand\u00f3) igualmente tido como presidenci\u00e1vel, \u00e9 outra das personalidades que ganha balan\u00e7o por ser uma refer\u00eancia em mat\u00e9rias de seguran\u00e7a e autoridade do Estado.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Os protestos do final do m\u00eas de julho desencadearam, para todos os efeitos, uma crise pol\u00edtica que dificultou ainda mais a atividade de Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o. A reuni\u00e3o extraordin\u00e1ria de ontem do Conselho da Rep\u00fablica, \u00f3rg\u00e3o consultivo do chefe de Estado que integra personalidades como a vice-presidente, a presidente da Assembleia Nacional, o Procurador-Geral da Rep\u00fablica, l\u00edderes dos partidos com assento parlamentar e representantes da sociedade civil, convocada precisamente para analisar a situa\u00e7\u00e3o de seguran\u00e7a em Angola, chega tarde. At\u00e9 porque, no entender do Presidente da Rep\u00fablica, os protestos foram fabricados.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Em vez de aceitar que os tumultos ter\u00e3o nascido de uma insatisfa\u00e7\u00e3o social crescente, Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o considerou que os mesmos foram causados por \u201ccidad\u00e3os irrespons\u00e1veis manipulados por organiza\u00e7\u00f5es antipatriotas nacionais e estrangeiras atrav\u00e9s das redes sociais\u201d.
