CIVICOP ESQUECE MAIS DE 600 CIDADÃOS MORTOS EM 1993 PELO MPLA

Na província do Namibe, os familiares dos mais de 600 cidadãos mortos em Janeiro de 1993, cujos cadáveres foram atirados e esquecidos em valas comuns localizadas nos municípios de Moçâmedes e Tômbwa, exigem que a CIVICOP (Comissão de Reconciliação em Memória das Vítimas dos Conflitos Políticos) lhes devolva os restos mortais e certidões de óbito para a realização de funerais condignos.

Os restos mortais de mais 600 cidadãos que jazem em duas valas comuns localizadas uma no município de Moçâmedes e outra no Tômbwa, província do Namibe, continuam abandonados desde o dia 5 de Janeiro de 1993.

De acordo com fontes históricas, as vítimas foram “caçadas e assassinadas por forças ligadas ao MPLA, pelo simples facto de serem militantes, amigos e simpatizantes da UNITA, outros por serem falantes da língua Umbundo”.

Contactadas pelo Folha 8, algumas famílias lamentaram o facto de até ao momento a CIVICOP não lhes ter devolvido os restos mortais dos seus entes queridos, tão pouco terem sido contactados para a entrega das certidões de óbito para que possam realizar “pelo menos um funeral condigno”.

“Os membros da CIVICOP não estão interessados em cadastrar essas duas valas porque têm a certeza de que essas mortes foram orientadas por elementos do MPLA. Por isso é que estão mudos”, diz Elias Chitata.

“A agenda da CIVICOP não é fazer valer o significado do lema ‘Abraçar e Perdoar’, é promover a imagem do MPLA e desgastar a imagem do seu adversário político (UNITA)”, afirma Edson Kamalanga.

Os militantes e deputados pelo círculo Provincial da UNITA no Namibe deslocaram-se nesta sexta-feira, 5 de Janeiro, às duas valas comuns localizadas nos municípios de Moçâmedes e Tômbwa para render homenagem às vítimas.
